The Resurrection
The Resurrection
Look carefully and see the perfect order within all these extremely bewildering, rapidly changing, numerous, and real images, so that everything falls exactly into place. Indeed, even scenes on a cinema screen could not be so well ordered, nor could millions of gifted magicians produce these works of art. Therefore, the ruler who does not appear to us for the moment is performing astonishing wonders.
O foolish one! You ask: “How will this great land be destroyed and then rebuilt somewhere else?”
Truly, you see that in this land, every hour, countless transformations take place that surpass your understanding. They serve as an example of the transformation of this great land itself. From such transformations in this land, it may be understood that behind this swift composition and dissolution, formation and destruction, another purpose is being pursued.
It is as though as much care is invested in an act that lasts only an hour as would normally be given to something meant to last ten years. This shows that these actions are not final ends in themselves, but only examples.
Moreover, the ruler performs all these activities in a wondrous way so that the images of these actions may be recorded and their results registered, just as everything that occurred in the place of trial was recorded and registered.
This implies that the outcomes of these processes, based on what has been recorded and registered here, will be worked out in the greatest gathering place and displayed continuously in the greatest exhibition hall. All these temporary and unstable processes in this land will produce lasting images and yield eternal fruits. Thus, all the processes we observe in this land are intended for a supreme happiness, a court of ultimate judgment, and many other exalted purposes still unknown to us.
The Eleventh Aspect
Come, O stubborn friend, let us board an airplane or a train that will take us either east or west—that is, into the past or the future. Let us see what kinds of wonders this miraculous ruler has brought about in other places.
Look, everywhere there are marvels like the residences, training grounds, and exhibition halls we have already seen. Yet they differ from one another in artistry and form. But observe carefully: within these impermanent residences, temporary training grounds, and fleeting exhibition halls, you will see an order arising from manifest wisdom, indications of evident providence, signs of exalted justice, and fruits of all-encompassing mercy. Everyone who is not blind, and whose reason has not been extinguished, will realize that no wisdom more perfect than His wisdom, no providence more beautiful than His providence, no mercy more comprehensive than His mercy, and no justice more exalted than His justice can exist or even be conceived.
If, as you imagine, there were no eternal realms, no magnificent domains, no permanent stations, no everlasting dwellings, no settled inhabitants, and no happy subjects within His dominion—if there were no other place in which His wisdom, providence, mercy, and justice could manifest themselves in their perfect form, unlike in this transient land—then we would be forced to deny the wisdom that is plainly before our eyes, the providence we witness, the mercy we behold, and the justice whose unmistakable signs are so clearly evident. This would be as foolish as denying the existence of the sun while seeing its light at midday.
