The Resurrection
Know that because of this attitude, you certainly deserve punishment. Indeed, you resemble a traveler who closes his eyes to the light of the sun and instead tries to illuminate his dark and frightening road with his own imagination, like a firefly attempting to give light.
Since the ruler has made a promise, he will most certainly keep his word. Moreover, fulfilling it is very easy for him and is absolutely necessary for us, for everything, for himself, and for his dominion. This means that a supreme court of judgment awaits us and that a great happiness will be granted.
The Ninth Aspect
Come, let us look at some of the leading figures of these communities. Each of them has a private telephone through which they can speak personally with the ruler.[1] Some have even had the privilege of appearing before him. Listen to what they say. They unanimously report that the ruler has prepared a magnificent place for reward and a terrifying place for punishment. His promises are extremely firm and his threats of punishment extremely severe. His honor and majesty in no way tolerate the humiliation of breaking a promise.
Moreover, these messengers unanimously report that the heart of this vast dominion lies far away in another land. The buildings found here in this place of trial are temporary. Later they will be replaced by everlasting palaces, and this land will be completely transformed. For this mighty and imperishable dominion, whose greatness is understood from its works, cannot be reconciled with what is temporary, passing, unstable, insignificant, changeable, perishable, deficient, and incomplete. Such a dominion requires what is worthy, enduring, stable, imperishable, unchanging, perfect, and magnificent. This means that there is another land, to which everyone will be taken.
The Tenth Aspect
Come, today is the spring festival.[2] A transformation will take place and wondrous phenomena will appear. Let us walk on this beautiful spring day through the green valley adorned with magnificent flowers. Look, the people are coming this way as well. And look, a wonder is taking place. All the buildings are being demolished and suddenly rebuilt in new forms. This once deserted valley has become a lively city. Just as scenes change on a cinema screen, a different world appears every hour and the valley takes on a new form each time.

The leading figures in this parable symbolize the prophets and the awliyā(sing. walī) Those who seek the pleasure of Allah and attain elevated spiritual ranks through worship, obedience, and sincerity.. As for the private telephone, it represents the spiritual connection between Allah and the human heart. The heart functions here as a receiver of revelations and inspirations, and serves as both the earpiece and the mouthpiece of this private telephone. ↩︎
- In the Ninth Truth, you will find what this aspect alludes to. For example, the day of the spring festival symbolizes the spring season, and the green valley full of flowers symbolizes the face of the earth in spring. The changing scenes on the cinema screen refer to all kinds of creations that appear in spring and summer, and to the sustenance of animals and human beings. These are changed in perfect order, renewed in perfect mercy, and brought into existence successively by Sāni-i Qadīr-i Dhul-JalālAllah, the All-Powerful Creator of perfect artistry, whose majesty is without limit., Fātir-i Hakīm-i Dhul-JamālAllah, who creates all things from nothing with perfect wisdom, and whose beauty is infinite., from the beginning of spring until the end of summer. ↩︎
