Nature Or The Creator
Nature Or The Creator
In short, just as a partner or equal to Wājibul-WujūdAllah, whose existence is necessary and whose non-existence is impossible. is excluded and impossible, so too is the interference of others in His actions and in the creation of anything excluded and impossible.
As for the difficulty mentioned in the Second Impossibility of the Third Path, as has been proven in many treatises of the Risale-i Nur, if everything is attributed to Wāhid-i AhadAllah, the One and Unique, whose oneness is manifest throughout all creation., the coming into existence of all creatures is as simple and easy as that of a single creature. But if everything is attributed to causes and nature, the coming into existence of a single thing becomes as difficult as that of all things, as has been proven in numerous treatises with absolute and undeniable proofs. A summary of one proof is as follows:
If, for example, a man is connected to a sultan through military service or public office, then that soldier or official, by virtue of the strength of that connection, can perform an act requiring a power a hundred thousand times greater than his personal strength. He may even, in the name of the sultan, capture another king. For he does not himself carry the equipment and sources of power required for the tasks and actions he performs, nor is he required to do so. As a result of that connection, his sources of power and his equipment are carried by the army of the sultan, which stands behind him as a support. Thus, the acts and works he performs may be as great as those of a sultan and as extraordinary and overwhelming as those of an entire army.
For example, by virtue of official duty, an ant destroyed the palace of PharaohThe ruler of ancient Egypt who opposed Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him).. Through connection with Allah, a fly brought down Nimrod. And through connection with the Almighty, a pine seed the size of a grain of wheat brought all the parts of a vast pine tree to full growth. Indeed, through this connection, that seed receives an instruction from divine determining and then carries out excellent tasks. If that connection is severed, the formation of that seed would require more necessities, more equipment, more power, and more artistry than the formation of that enormous pine tree.[1]
If that connection is severed and each of them is discharged from his duty as a soldier or official, then each would have to carry on his own the equipment and sources of power needed for the tasks he is to perform. At that point, he could act only according to the amount of strength and equipment he personally possesses. If the actions he previously performed with ease were then demanded of him in that new state, he would have to carry the strength of an army in his arms and bear on his back the factory of the sultan in which the necessary military equipment is produced. Indeed, even clowns who invent the most absurd superstitions and tales to make others laugh would be ashamed of such a fanciful idea.
In conclusion, attributing every being to Wājibul-WujūdAllah, whose existence is necessary and whose non-existence is impossible. is as easy as it is necessary. Attributing creation and formation to nature, however, is as difficult as it is impossible and lies beyond the limits of reason.
- Indeed, through this connection, that seed receives an instruction from divine determining and then carries out excellent tasks. If that connection is severed, more requirements, power, and skill are needed for the formation of that seed than for the formation of the enormous pine tree. In that case, the pine tree with all its parts would have to be physically present in the potential pine tree within the seed. For the factory of that enormous tree is that seed. Yet the potential tree within that seed manifests in the external world through the power of Allah and thereby grows into a physical pine tree. ↩︎
