Nature Or The Creator
Nature Or The Creator
The answer: As we have proven with great certainty in other treatises of the Risale-i Nur, the characteristic of lordship is to reject intervention and interference. Even the most insignificant ruler refuses intervention within his own authority, even from his own son. The fact that certain pious sultans, despite being caliphs, had their innocent sons killed out of fear of external interference in their rule shows how essential this rule of “rejecting interference” is within sovereignty. Indeed, the independence inherent in sovereignty requires this fundamental principle, known as “the rule of preventing participation.” Throughout history, this rule has shown its force, especially during extraordinary periods of turmoil, whenever there were two governors in a town or two sultans in a country.
If powerless and needy human beings, who possess only a shadow of authority and sovereignty, cannot tolerate external intervention, reject the interference of others, refuse partnership in their rule, and strive with determination to preserve their independence, then compare—if you are able—what an essential necessity and necessary requirement this rejection of intervention, prevention of participation, and aversion to partners must be for Dhāt-i Dhul-JalālAllah, the Majestic Lord Whose greatness and majesty are boundless., Who possesses absolute lordship, absolute authority, absolute independence, and, by virtue of His absolute power, is in need of nothing and no one.
If you ask: “If a portion of the thanks and glorifications of certain insignificant beings were directed toward certain causes, would this cause any deficiency in the thanks and glorifications of all creatures—from atoms to planets—directed toward Wājibul-WujūdAllah, whose existence is necessary and whose non-existence is impossible., Who alone is worthy of worship?”
The answer: The All-Wise Creator of the universe created the universe like a tree, whose most perfect fruits are conscious beings; and among conscious beings, He made the human being its most comprehensive fruit. Moreover, the most valuable fruit of the human being, and the reason and purpose of his creation, is gratitude and worship. Is it at all possible that the Absolute and Independent Sovereign, Wāhid-i AhadAllah, the One and Unique, whose oneness is manifest throughout all creation., Who created the universe in order to make Himself loved and known, would give the human being—the fruit of the whole universe—and the highest fruit of the human being, namely gratitude and worship, to others? Would He ever, entirely contrary to His wisdom, render the result of creation and the fruit of the universe meaningless? Never! Would He ever permit the worship of His creatures to be given to others in a way that denies and contradicts His wisdom and lordship? Would He ever cause Himself to be forgotten and the exalted purposes of creation to be denied by giving the thanks, praise, love, and worship of His most perfect creatures to others, while His actions show that He wills to make Himself loved and known without limit? O friend who has abandoned naturalism, now it is your turn to speak!”
He then said: “All praise belongs to Allah. My doubts have been completely removed. You have presented me with two extremely clear and powerful proofs for the unity of Allah and the fact that He alone is worthy of worship, and that nothing besides Him has that right. To deny these proofs would be an arrogance equal to denying the sun on a clear day.”
