The Twenty-Third Flash

Although this treatise was originally written as the Sixteenth Note of the Seventeenth Flash, it later acquired an independent status because of its importance and became the Twenty-Third Flash. It destroys naturalistic atheism without any possibility of revival and completely shatters the foundations of unbelief.

A Reminder

In this note, through nine impossibilities—which themselves contain at least ninety further impossibilities—it is explained how far removed from reason, how meaningless, and how unfounded the true nature of the path followed by the naturalists really is. In order to keep the discussion brief and concise, and because these impossibilities are discussed in part in various treatises of the Risale-i Nur, some steps have been omitted.

It may suddenly occur to people how famous and supposedly intelligent philosophers could accept such an obvious superstition and continue to follow that path. Indeed, they have failed to perceive the true nature of their way. Yet the true nature of their path consists of irrationalities that are also its necessary implications. I am prepared to prove in detail, with convincing and decisive arguments, to those who doubt it, that the horrifying, repugnant, and irrational positions set forth at the conclusion of each impossibility are indeed the necessary consequences of their path.^[1]
