The Third Flash

In short: the human being is indeed transient, yet he was created for eternity and to serve as a mirror to the One Who is Eternal. He has been charged with duties that produce eternal fruits, and has been given a form that reflects the manifestations of the eternal Names of the Eternal One. His true duty and happiness, therefore, is to hold fast with all his powers and faculties to the Names of that Eternal One within the bounds of what pleases Him; to turn toward Him on the path of eternity and journey toward Him.

Just as man’s tongue says:

يَا بَاقِى أَنْتَ الْبَاقِىO Everlasting One, You are the Everlasting.

so too his heart, spirit, intellect, and all his subtle faculties should say:

هُوَ الْبَاقٖى، هُوَ الْاَزَلِىُّ الْاَبَدِىُّ، هُوَ السَّرْمَدِىُّ، هُوَ الدَّائِمُ، هُوَ الْمَطْلُوبُ، هُوَ الْمَحْبُوبُ، هُوَ الْمَقْصُودُ، هُوَ الْمَعْبُودُHe is the Everlasting. He is the One without beginning or end. He is the Eternal, the Ever-Abiding. He is the One sought, the Beloved, the One desired, and the One worshipped.

سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَٓا اِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَٓا اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَلٖيمُ الْحَكٖيمُGlory be to You. We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, You are the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. – The Koran 2:32

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَٓا اِنْ نَسٖينَٓا اَوْ اَخْطَاْنَاOur Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake. — The Qur’an 2:286
