Eleven Glad Tidings For Humanity
The Third Phrase
لَا شَرٖيكَ لَهُHe has no partner.
In other words, just as Allah is One and has no partner in His divinity and sovereignty, so too He has no partner in the execution of His acts.
Among earthly rulers, there may be only one sovereign with no partner in his rule, yet in carrying out his affairs his officials act as intermediaries. They prevent everyone from approaching the ruler directly, saying, "You must come through us."
Allah, the Sovereign of Pre-Eternity and Post-Eternity, however, has no partner in His dominion, nor does He require any helper or associate in carrying out His acts. Without His command, will, power, and might, nothing can exert the slightest influence over anything else. Every person may turn to Him directly. Since He has neither partner nor helper, no one who seeks Him can ever be told, "You are forbidden. You may not enter His presence."
Thus, this phrase brings the following glad tiding to the human soul:
The soul that has attained īmānFaith; belief in the six articles of faith: Allah, His angels, His revealed scriptures, His prophets, the Hereafter, and divine decree (qadar). may, without barrier, veil, obstacle, or interference, enter at any moment, in every circumstance, and from every place into the presence of Jamīl-i Dhul-JalālAllah, whose beauty is infinite and whose majesty and exaltedness are boundless. and Qadīr-i Dhul-KamālAllah, Whose power encompasses all things and Whose perfection is boundless., the Eternal One, the Owner of the treasuries of mercy and bliss, present all its needs to Him, draw near to His mercy, rely upon His power, and attain complete peace and perfect happiness.
The Fourth Phrase
لَهُ الْمُلْكُTo Him belongs all sovereignty.
In other words, the entire dominion belongs to Him. You yourself are His possession, His servant, and a worker in His dominion.
This phrase brings the following healing glad tiding:
"O human being! Do not imagine that you own yourself. You are unable to govern yourself; such a burden is far too heavy for you. You cannot protect yourself, shield yourself from calamities, or provide for your own needs. Therefore, do not torment yourself with needless anxiety and suffering. This dominion belongs to Another. Its Owner is both All-Powerful and Most Merciful. Rely upon His power and never doubt His mercy. Leave your grief behind, rejoice, cast off your burdens, and find peace."
This phrase also declares that the universe which you love, to which you feel so deeply attached, whose sorrows grieve you, and which you are powerless to set right, belongs to Qadīr-i RahīmAllah, the All-Powerful One Whose mercy encompasses everything.. Entrust it, therefore, to its Owner. Leave it in His care and find tranquillity instead of anxiety. He is al-HakīmAllah, the All-Wise, Whose wisdom is infinite. and ar-RahīmAllah, the Most Merciful.. He governs and directs His dominion exactly as He wills. Whenever fear overtakes you, say, as Ibrahim Haqqi did:
"Let us see what our Lord will do; whatever He does is good and true."
View everything from this perspective, and do not interfere.
