The Third Point

My dear sisters, know with certainty that the pleasures and enjoyments found outside the lawful sphere bring with them many times more pain and sorrow than pleasure. The Risale-i Nur has established this through hundreds of powerful proofs and real-life examples. You can find its detailed exposition throughout the Risale-i Nur.

In particular, the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Words from The Short Words, together with The Guide for Youth, will fully explain this truth in my place. Therefore, be content with the pleasures found within the lawful sphere and be satisfied with them. A sincere conversation with your innocent children at home, for example, is more delightful than watching a hundred films.

Know also with certainty that the true pleasure of this worldly life lies within the sphere of īmānFaith; belief in the six articles of faith: Allah, His angels, His revealed scriptures, His prophets, the Hereafter, and divine decree (qadar). and in īmānFaith; belief in the six articles of faith: Allah, His angels, His revealed scriptures, His prophets, the Hereafter, and divine decree (qadar). itself. Every righteous deed contains a spiritual pleasure of its own, while the Risale-i Nur has demonstrated through hundreds of decisive proofs that misguidance and dissipation bring exceedingly bitter and painful suffering even in this world.

I myself have witnessed through many experiences and events that īmānFaith; belief in the six articles of faith: Allah, His angels, His revealed scriptures, His prophets, the Hereafter, and divine decree (qadar). contains, as it were, a seed of Paradise, while misguidance and dissipation contain a seed of Hell. This truth has been repeated throughout the Risale-i Nur, and although it has been examined by its most obstinate opponents—and even by the officially appointed experts in legal proceedings—none have been able to refute it.

I have heard that you wished me to deliver a lesson to you in the mosque. However, my exhausted condition, my illness, and many other circumstances do not permit it. Therefore, let The Treatise on Veiling, The Guide for Youth, and The Short Words serve as teachers in my place for you, my blessed and innocent sisters, and my young spiritual children.

I have resolved to include all my sisters who read and accept this lesson among the recipients of all my spiritual rewards and prayers, together with all the students of the Risale-i Nur.

If, in my place, you obtain and read even part of the Risale-i Nur, or listen to it being read, then according to our established principle, you too will share in the spiritual rewards and prayers of all the students of the Risale-i Nur, who are your brothers and sisters.

I would have liked to write much more. However, because I am very ill, very weak, advanced in age, and occupied with many responsibilities, including correcting copies of the Risale-i Nur, I shall be content with this much for now.
