The Fourth Word

That ticket represents the prayer. A single hour is sufficient for the five daily prayers together with wudūThe minor ritual ablution performed by washing specific parts of the body.. Truly, how greatly a person wrongs himself, how severely he harms himself, and how irrationally he behaves when he spends twenty-three hours of his day on this fleeting worldly life, yet fails to devote the remaining hour to his eternal life. Would a person who considers himself intelligent not realize how unreasonable and illogical his conduct is if he were willing to spend half of his wealth on a lottery involving a thousand participants, where the chance of winning is one in a thousand, but unwilling to spend even one twenty-fourth of his wealth on an eternal treasure whose chance of success is established at ninety-nine percent?

Furthermore, the prayer grants tremendous peace to the soul, the heart, and the mind. Nor does it impose any great burden upon the body. Moreover, when performed with the proper intention, all the other lawful worldly actions of the one who performs the prayer acquire the value of worship. In this way, he can devote the entire capital of his life to the hereafter and render his transient life everlasting in one respect.
