THE FLASHES
The Twenty-Sixth Flash
Suddenly, the mystery of the sacred verse
Everything is perishable except Him. To Him belongs the judgment, and to Him you will be returned.” — The Qur’an 28:88
was revealed to me.
That verse caused me to say:
يَا بَاقِى أَنْتَ الْبَاقِى ۞ يَا بَاقِى أَنْتَ الْبَاقِىO Everlasting One, You are the Everlasting - O Everlasting One, You are the Everlasting
and bestowed upon me true consolation.
Indeed, in that silent valley, amid that sorrowful state, through the mystery of this sacred verse—as indicated in the Eleventh Flash—I saw myself standing before three great funerals.
The first funeral: I saw myself as a gravestone standing over the fifty-five Saids who had died during the fifty-five years of my life and lay buried in the grave of my past.
The second funeral: I saw myself, a living creature as small as an ant, standing upon the face of this century, which lay like a gravestone at the head of the great funeral of humanity, my own species, whose generations had died since the time of Adam (as)The first prophet and the father of humankind. and been buried in the grave of the past.
The third funeral: In my imagination, I saw, as though it were taking shape before me, that just as a passing world dies upon the face of the earth every year, so too would the great world itself one day die, in accordance with the mystery of this verse.
Then the implicit meaning of the verse
But if they turn away, then say: ‘Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.’ — The Quran 9:129"
came to my aid. It completely dispelled the darkness of my grief over Abdurrahman's death and bestowed upon me true consolation and an inextinguishable light.
Indeed, this verse made me understand:
Since Allah exists, He is sufficient for everything. Since He is eternal, He is surely sufficient. A single glimmer of His mercy is more precious than the entire world. One ray of His light bestows spiritual life upon those three great funerals and reveals that they are not truly dead, but have fulfilled their duties and departed for other worlds.
Since the explanation of this mystery has been given in the Third Flash, I shall confine myself here to the following:
The words, repeated twice,
O Everlasting One, You are the Everlasting.
which express the meaning of the verse
Everything is perishable except Him. — The Qur’an 28:88
delivered me from that exceedingly painful and sorrowful state.
